John E. Gnuschke received his Ph.D. (1975) from the University of Missouri, Columbia; his M.A. (1971) from the University of Missouri, Columbia; and his B.S. (1969) from Utah State University. Dr. Gnuschke has been the Director of the Center for Manpower Studies (CMS) since 1976 and since 1985, has also been the Director of the Sparks Bureau of Business and Economic Research (SBBER). He has the rank of Professor in the Department of Economics. Under Dr. Gnuschke's leadership, the SBBER and CMS rank among the top applied research divisions in the nation. He has served as the President of the national Association for Univer- sity Business and Economic Research (AUBER). Dr. Gnuschke is a widely recognized leader in his profession and is much sought after for speaking engagements, consulting, and contract research. His areas of expertise include market assessments, survey research, impact studies, revenue and cost estimates, labor market studies, and competitor analyses. He has twice been recognized by the University for his work by receiving the Superior Performance in University Research (SPUR) Award.His consulting clients include many of Memphis’ largest employers and organizations.
